Back in 1954 there was only one electronic toothbrush available, the Broxodent. This electronic toothbrush was the first successful brush and was originally made in Switzerland. It was only two years later when the experts realized the advantages of using an electronic toothbrush, rather than a manual brush. The reason they were more effective is simply because it’s hard to brush incorrectly and the electric motor will help the cleansing process.
When trying to choose an electronic toothbrush in today’s market, it can certainly get overwhelming. There are a ton of choices to choose from, so hopefully the reviews on this guide will help you narrow down your search for a new electronic toothbrush.
The first electronic toothbrush on my list is the Oral-B ProfessionalCare. You may have seen this same model, formerly named the Triumph. This intelligent brush has a feature that provides feedback on your brushing technique, specifically their built-in pressure sensor that will warn you if you’re brushing too hard. The LCD display screen will let you know when it’s time to replace the brush head as well as provide a smiley face when you complete the recommend two minute brush time. The brush head is a built with a combination of oscillating and a rotating brush head, which will guarantee to hit all parts of your teeth. The computer features are some nice extras; however this electronic toothbrush is praised on the performance of the brush! You can also rely on the battery life of this electronic toothbrush as it lasts up to two weeks before needing a recharge. It can be purchased for $125 at drugstore.com, walgreens or amazon.com.
During my research, I’ve found that most reviews lean towards the Oral-B over this next option, however there are many excellent reviews on the Sonicare Flexcare. Some will say its better; some will argue the other side. Regardless, this is a great option for an electronic toothbrush. It’s extremely easy to use and it’s highly praised for its cleaning skills. It’s also extremely light weight and you won’t feel the vibrations as much. This electronic toothbrush has a unique feature called the “easy-start.” Over the course of the first 14 times you use the electronic toothbrush; it will slowly increase the power to help you adjust to the new brush. If you’re searching for something on the more gentle side than the Oral-B option is the brush for you. Additionally, people with smaller mouths tend to opt for this electronic toothbrush since they provide a compact size brush for smaller mouths and harder to reach spots. This brush can also be purchased at Amazon.com and Drugstore.com and its estimated price is $140.
The last option is a more affordable electronic toothbrush. The Oral-B Vitality only costs an estimated $18! It’s a much less sophisticated brush, but will still do a great job cleaning your teeth. The Vitality is built with a dual brush that oscillates, but won’t pulse or move to the sides like the other options. However, manual brushes don’t do anything, so experts still believe this is a great option!
Every electronic toothbrush will vary, but with these three options you should have an idea of what to look for. If you’re on a budget, the third option is your best bet. If you have a smaller mouth, then the second options for you! Once you make the change from a manual toothbrush to an electronic toothbrush, you’ll never turn back!
